Tennis Programme
Herodotou tennis academy offers coaching programmes for all ages and abilities. Different ages and standards are currently playing at Herodotou tennis academy with beginners, intermediate and advanced groups. The academy follows a more ability standard approach rather than age. A promotional scheme is present throughout the different coaching programmes within the tennis academy for players demonstrating talent, desire and motivation.
Stage 1: Mini tennis- The mini tennis programme is constructed to nurture new talent from ages 5-9 and at the same time have fun doing so. Each player is unique and with Groups no more than 5 players, each child receive ample attention during the lesson to ensure they not only learn how to hit a tennis ball, but learn the rules and how to complete in a friendly environment.
Stage 2: Junior tennis – This coaching programme is if for players aged 9+ and is comprised of two groups. The social tennis group and the futures group. Futures groups are for motivated players who wish to compete in tournaments and further a career in tennis. These groups are more tactical and physical to prepare players for tournaments and matches Individual lessons are also available for these players, to ensure the development of the physical and mental aspects of playing in tournaments.. Social groups are for the children who play a good standard of tennis but do not wish to pursue a career in tennis or compete at a national level. More games based coaching is applied to these groups whereby social players have fun and learning to play.
Stage 3: Futures Elite tennis: Futures elite are for the players 11+ who demonstrate raw talent and wish to play on a national and international basis. This programme is specifically designed for the development of high level youth tennis players where tactical, technical, physical, mental attributes are monitored closely with the team of coaches at Herodotou Tennis Academy. These players compete on a national and international level in there relevant age groups, travelling to destinations such as Croatia, Czech Republic, UK, Italy, Israel and other EU and Non EU countries.
